FAQ & InformationAbout Anatomy of a Skirt Anatomy of a Skirt began as a reconstructed clothing design line, but owner and designer Erin Wilk soon found that she preferred making and designing handbags and accessories to drafting detailed clothing patterns. The name, however, stuck. Erin's designs are quirky and full of personality with a playful edge, and often feature robots, squid and other fantastic creatures. All of her designs are vegetarian, and many are vegan- proving you can be stylish without being cruel. Anatomy of a Skirt strives to use vintage and recycled materials as much as possible, and hopes to someday create a line of completely sustainable products. When not sewing, cutting or designing, Erin likes to read voraciously, drink copious amounts of coffee, and haunt the local thrift shops in search of treasure. Payment Anatomy of a Skirt accepts Mastercard and Visa*, but prefers PayPal for payment. Paypal is a secure site for online eCheck and Credit Card payments. If you choose to pay via Paypal, after you go through our Shopping Cart, you will be directed to the PayPal website to pay for your order. Please Note: Only orders which are paid for will be processed!. Ontario residents, 8% sales tax will be added to your order. *please note that Anatomy of a Skirt is a Canadian company, and our credit card processing is in CAD- you can shop in USD or CAD, but all our processing is in CAD. Your credit card company will automatically convert the charge to your own currency- but it may be a slightly different amount than you see on the site. We adjust our exchange rates once a week. Shipping If the items in your order are ready-made, you should get your order in about two to three weeks (keep in mind, we are shipping from Canada!). If any part of your order is custom made, it will take about two to four weeks to make and two weeks to ship, so you should get it in about 4-6 weeks. The product pages will note if an item is slower to ship out then these guidelines. Please note that occasionally items do get slowed down at customs. Any duties, customs, taxes and tariffs are the responsibility of the customer. All North American shipping prices are for air or ground shipping, which does not include a tracking number, and are NOT trackable- we will not be held responsible for lost or missing items. Returns, Repairs, and Guarantees Any defective merchandise can be returned or exchanged within 3 months of order date. We are happy to accept returns or exchanges on any order (except custom orders), but only defective merchandise will be reimbursed shipping costs. Returns (except on manufacturing faults) will not be refunded the original shipping cost, but will receive the original purchase price back, and be subject to a 20% restocking fee. Please ask any questions before you purchase! You must contact us before you return any order. All returned items must be in NEW, UNUSED condition. All returns must be sent through the regular postal system. We will not accept returns sent through DHL, UPS, or any courier; the delivery will be refused and returned to you, at your cost. We will replace, or repair (where appropriate) any manufacturing faults for three months from the date you recieve your item; though exceptions will be made on a case by case basis. This means that anything that is a result of manufacturing error or defective materials, We will gladly fix for free (and reimburse your shipping). If you want any adjustments/alterations, repairs or other such work that isn’t because of manufacturing or material defects, we’ll do it for a nominal fee, but you pay shipping. If anything goes wrong with your item, we want to hear about it! Privacy Anatomy of a Skirt will NOT divulge any personal information, nor will we sell it to evil spam robots (not even if they ask nicely). Any and all information you give Anatomy of a Skirt will be kept confidential, and will only be used for purposes of mailing out your order, contacting you about your order, and sending out e-mail updates (assuming you sign up for the newsletter, which is only sent out 3-4 times a year). If you order something or contact us with any questions, you are NOT automatically signed up for the update newsletter! If you want to recieve the newsletter (chock full of updates and coupons!), just make sure that when you register, the newsletter box has a checkmark in it! FAQ *How come I see a drop-down menu with both CAD and USD options?
Anatomy of a Skirt is proud to be a Canadian company, but we are also thankful to our American customers! You can choose which currency you view our site in, however all payments will be processed in Canadian funds. If you wish to know the CAD amount that will be charged to your credit card, please send us an e-mail with your order and we'll let you know before we process it. *What does mill-end mean? Mill-end materials are left over once a warehouse or manufacturer has finished their production run. By using these materials, we're saving perfectly useable fabric from ending up in a landfill! *What materials do you use that are new? Most of the vinyl is new, although we try to use mill-end materials whenever possible to minimize out impact on the environment. We use all new hardwear and thread on our designs. *What about custom orders? We would be more than happy to do a custom order for you! Send an e-mail with the details, and we will get back to you asap! Most custom orders will be slightly more expensive than pre-made designs. Please also note that custom orders are non-returnable *Can I link to your site? Please do! But please don’t hotlink to our pictures! Our inventory changes quite often and sold items are deleted, which means that pretty soon, your hotlink will just be a broken link! |
